Description
A basic page is where regular site content is posted.
Creating and Managing Basic pages
To create a basic page, navigate to Content -> Add content -> Basic page.

If you’d like to edit an existing page, either navigate to the page and select “Edit” in the list of options at the top of the page (Directly below the title)

You can also navigate to the content dashboard and select “Basic Page” in the “Content Type” dropdown menu at the top of the page. This will present you with all Pages, sorted by the date they were last edited.

You will be presented with this page:

Here’s breakdown of the basic page fields:
- Title: Title that will appear at the top of the page and in search results. This is also used to generate the URL, so a title of “Example Site Page” would have a URL that ends with “example-site-page”.
- Body: The content of the page.
- Accordion to apply to: The accordion category to match with accordion items. See Accordion section for more information.
You will also see a menu on the right side of your screen:
We recommend filling out the menu settings, as this is the correct way to place your page in your menu structure.

Menu Settings
- Provide a menu link: Check this box to put provide the item in menu programmatically.
- Menu link title: This is what will appear in the menu.
- Description: This is a place to enhance the context of the link. A proper menu link title is usually sufficient.
- Parent link: Where you would like the link to be in the menu.
- Weight: How high or low you would like the link to appear amongst the other links on the same level. This can be modified afterwards visually on the menu page.
Providing this information here rather than manually adding a link in the menu has the added benefit of generating a layered URL. For example, if you set the page to be under the “This is a test” page with a url of /this-is-a-test, and your page name is “URL example”, your page will automatically generate a URL of /this-is-a-test/url-exmple. This will continue down as many layers as you need.
If you would like to manually enter the page URL, you can change it in the “URL alias” tab by removing the “Automatically generate alias” checkbox, and typing it in:

Note if you are editing a page and it already generated a URL, a redirect will automatically be created from the old one to the new one, so you don’t need to worry about links in your content, user bookmarks or external links to the page.
